How SafeIdea collects, uses, and shares information when you visit safeidea.ai.
SafeIdea, LLC ("SafeIdea," "we," "us," or "our") operates this website at safeidea.ai. Our principal office is in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
To reach us about this policy or your information, email support@safeidea.ai.
This Privacy Policy describes how SafeIdea collects, uses, and shares information when you:
The SafeIdea product handles your firm's confidential client information separately and under the terms of the Customer Agreement signed when your firm is admitted. The product is local-first by design and is built so that client confidential information does not leave your environment in identified form. The product's data handling is described in the Customer Agreement, not here.
To be specific about what is not happening on this site:
If any of this changes, we will update this policy and note the change in the "Last updated" line above.
We collect three categories of information through this site.
When you visit safeidea.ai, our hosting provider (Fly.io) records standard server logs. These logs contain technical information that any web server generates: the IP address making the request, the user-agent string identifying your browser and operating system, the URL requested, the timestamp, and HTTP status codes. We use these logs for site security, debugging, and abuse prevention. We do not use them to track individual visitors or to build profiles.
When you submit the "Apply for Charter Access" form, we collect the information you provide on that form. As of the effective date above, the form collects:
We instruct applicants not to include client names, matter details, or other confidential client information in the form. If you include such information anyway, we will treat it as confidential and discard it from our review, but we cannot make that the default. Please respect the instruction.
If you email us at support@safeidea.ai or any other SafeIdea address, we receive the contents of your message and any information you choose to share in it. We host our email through Google Workspace.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes.
The primary purpose of the application form is to let us review applications and decide which firms to admit to the Charter Customer program. Cart Reed (Chief Executive Officer) and Erich Wasserman (Chief Commercial Officer) review applications. We may follow up with you by email to ask clarifying questions before we make a decision.
We use your email address to communicate with you about your application, our decision, and (if admitted) the next steps to become a paying customer.
If we admit your firm to the Charter Customer program, we may use your contact information to schedule onboarding, propose meeting times, and follow up on questions related to your account before and after you start paying.
If we decide not to admit your firm at this time, we may keep your email address and follow up later with product updates, new program availability, or other information that may be relevant to your practice. Every such email will include an unsubscribe link, and you may also email support@safeidea.ai at any time and ask us to stop.
The "current approach to client confidentiality" question on the application form provides us with qualitative information about how attorneys are using AI today and where the compliance gaps are most acute. We use the aggregate signal from these responses to inform our product roadmap. We do not publish or share individual responses, and we do not associate roadmap notes with named applicants outside our internal records.
We use server logs and form-submission metadata to protect the site from abuse, including automated spam, denial-of-service attempts, and fraudulent applications.
We will use and disclose information as required by law, court order, or other legal process, and to enforce our rights.
You may ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing support@safeidea.ai. We will honor the request unless we are required by law to retain it.
We protect information using reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the type of information and the risks involved. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim ours is. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
You have several rights regarding your information.
You may ask us to confirm what information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it. Email support@safeidea.ai with your request. We will respond within a reasonable time, typically within 30 days.
Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You may also email support@safeidea.ai and ask to be removed from any list.
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA") as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA"). You have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to request deletion of that information, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. SafeIdea does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any CCPA right, email support@safeidea.ai. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
