OPPORTUNITY
Create an asset that grows your business' value.
Legal-services providers are being offered a trade: get the benefit of AI in exchange for giving your clients' confidences, thinking, and the record of how the business works so that someone else's enterprise value can grow.
SAIL offers a new trade: create a differentiated asset that grows your enterprise value.
Ownership
MARKET
AI is becoming a utility. What you run on it creates new value.
What a business owns, and gains value from, are the processes that run on top of the infrastructure: how work is captured, standardized, executed, and measured, and the efficiency and scale that follow.
When every business can buy the same models and compute, those models and compute become a utility. Higher enterprise value is showing up in the businesses that can excel at what they do with it.
74%
of AI's economic value is being captured by just 20% of companies. All of them buy the same underlying technology as everyone else.
AI Performance Study, PwC, April 2026. 1,217 senior executives across 25 sectors, who were twice as likely to redesign how work runs rather than simply use AI tools.
“There don't appear, today, to be any systemic moats in generative AI.” Not in the applications, not in the infrastructure, and not in the models. What endures is holding onto data and building workflows.
Who Owns the Generative AI Platform?, Andreessen Horowitz.
Foundation models are consolidating toward “a handful of players, relatively low margin, but very, very high scale.” The differentiation is what you deliver to your customers on top of them.
Bret Taylor, CEO of Sierra and chairman of OpenAI, on Sequoia Capital's Training Data.
The ALSP corpus is the data from years of diverse legal work. Skills are the workflows. SAIL exists to turn both into an asset your business owns.
OUR INTENT
Where SAIL's value is designed to accrue for ALSPs.
01
Process efficiency
Your business process, encoded in a Skill you author and own, enable fewer touches per matter, faster cycle time, and freed-up capacity.
02
Capital investment returns
SAIL's capabilities enable you to run day-to-day work on a local AI with zero incremental fees, so cost per unit of work should fall as volume of work rises.
03
Strategic value
Repeatable efficiencies create a premium because they create operating leverage, they eliminate key-person failure points, and demonstrate an encoded operating model.
Ownership
What you own.
You own the deployment. We license you the engine.
| You own | What it is |
|---|---|
| The deployed instance | The configured, running system on your infrastructure. |
| Configuration and customization | Everything built to your workflows, your terminology, your practice. |
| Connectors and adapters | Every integration built to your systems of record, and to your local and frontier AI. |
| Your Skills | Your workflows and practice knowledge, encoded as files. The files are yours. |
| The Masking Dictionary | Your confidential entities, generated from your own records. It resolves tokens back to real values, it lives on your server, and it never leaves the boundary. |
| All matter content | Documents, work product, correspondence, deliverables. Listed so it is never in doubt. |
| All indexes built from your corpus | Matter Memory and Index Files. Derivatives of your own data, rebuildable, and yours. |
| The audit record | Status logs, Compliance Receipts, session records. You hold the evidence. We keep no copy. |
| The repository | The repository holding all of the above. |
Security
The boundary
Protecting your data and workflows.
SAIL runs inside a closed environment. Anything that leaves for frontier AI is masked.
Your deployment
- Your corpus and matters
- The index and retrieval layer
- The Masking Dictionarystays inside
- Your licensed, local AIunmasked, in-boundary
- The work surface your people use
Masking Enginethe only crossing
Every crossing emits a Compliance Receipt, held inside the boundary.
Outside
- Frontier AI of your choiceyour account
- External services, such as a registry or filings lookupsame gate
The Masking Engine, patent pending, substitutes confidential client information for tokens. It writes a Masking Dictionary, which defines the set of confidential entities taken from your own records. You only give the frontier AI what it needs to reason.
Access
Only you have access to your data.
An asset someone else has access to is an asset you likely rent.
- No SAIL service interacts with your data. The platform runs on your infrastructure, on your AI accounts.
- Where SAIL support needs access to a running deployment, you grant it. Scoped, time-bound, audited and revocable.
Similarly, inside your business, administrators and auditors see status and audit records, never document content, and account and matter authorizations are enforced by SAIL, not an AI.
RECEIPTS
Client confidentiality, with receipts.
Every matter-touching request that leaves the boundary gets a signed, hash-chained, third-party-verifiable receipt that includes: who, which matter, what was retrieved, the entities masked, and any approvals.
Receipts can be produced for a client, insurer, regulator, or court -- a better answer than “here is our policy.”
Deployment
A Private Deployment.
SAIL is delivered as a Private Deployment: an instance that belongs to one business and is never shared with another.
On-premises hardware
You own and run the hardware.
Your local AI and your indexes live on your own server. Highest control.
- Capital expense, plus low operating expense.
Single-tenant server or service
An environment dedicated to your business alone.
Never shared with another provider, typically under your own account.
- Operating expense, no capital expense.
There is no multi-tenant option, and there will not be one.
In the hosted form you contract the hosting vendor directly, and that vendor carries any SOC 2 attestation. SAIL does not resell hosting.
Continuity
Nothing outside your control can lock you out of your own work.
The last threat to an asset is losing access to it. The server is yours. The weights sit on your own disk, under a license from the model's publisher. The API keys are yours. The corpus is yours. That is a stronger data-retention position than ordinary software delivered as a service, where your data lives on a vendor's servers.
In addition, you get:
- Source escrow of the engine, established automatically on signing. We select and control the escrow agent and we bear the cost. Release triggers include insolvency, cessation of business, discontinuation of the product, or an acquirer sunsetting it. In those events, you hold a perpetual, irrevocable, internal-use license to the engine source for your instance.
- Export on demand, at any time. Your corpus, your dictionary, your Skills and your audit record, with documentation sufficient to rebuild elsewhere.
- Assignability on change of control, so the platform is never friction in your own exit.
- Transition assistance, if you ever elect to leave.
