Install SafeIdea.

Three steps to your first matter.

  1. Step 1

    Seat assignment

    Your Firm Administrator assigns the email address that uses each seat in the admin console. For solo attorneys, you are your own Firm Administrator. Reassignment automatically terminates the previous email's access.

  2. Step 2

    Download & sign in

    Download the SafeIdea desktop application for your platform (Mac or Windows). On first launch, SafeIdea sends a one-time code to the email assigned to your seat. Enter the code to activate the install. One seat supports multiple personal computers (e.g., office machine and home machine); each install is a data island.

  3. Step 3

    Drop your first document

    Drop a document onto the workspace, name the matter, and your first Matter-Level Masking Dictionary is created locally. The first masking event takes about five minutes. The detailed six-stage walkthrough lives at How it works.

macOS

macOS 13 (Ventura) or later.

Universal binary; Apple Silicon and Intel both supported. About 220 MB. The Local Models (which the Masking Engine uses) run on the workstation via Ollama; no internet round-trip is required to mask.

Windows 11.

x64. About 240 MB. Same local-execution model as macOS.

What touches our servers.

Authentication, license verification, usage metering. None of those touch client content. Original documents, prompts, and chat history never reach SafeIdea servers.
